Weave Cafe Virgin Indian Hair Review (two month install)

Hello dolls, this post is going to be about my opinion of the Virgin Indian hair that I purchased from the Weave Cafe. I received alot of questions on Twitter asking how well the hair is doing, if it still goes back to it's original wavy state once it's been straightened with a flat iron, if the ends are split, etc. I recently took the hair out, and decided to update everyone on how the hair held up while it was installed. I feel that I can give a good review of the hair since I have had it in for almost two months and feel that I can share the pros, cons, and if I would recommend this hair.

Below is a picture of how the hair looked after I took it out.
(This is before I washed it)

There is an obvious difference in length between the two bundles of hair, being that I bought an 18'' and a 20". I decided to measure the hair to make sure that it was the actual length that I purchased. To the left, the 18" measured exactly 18". The picture to the right shows that the 20" bundle actually measures a little past 21". So the length of one of my bundles is actually longer than what I thought which is why I gave this hair an "A+" in this category.

Deep wave pattern at point of purchase

Left side is blow-dried / Right side is washed
The original pattern of the hair at the point of purchase was a deep wave with loose curls at the ends shown in the first picture. When I washed the hair, the pattern changed from a deep wave to more of a slight wave with loose curls at the ends as shown in the second picture. So once you wash the hair, the original pattern of the hair changes. I really liked the original deep wave pattern of the hair, and I wish that I would have worn that pattern before deciding to wear it straight when I initially got it installed. However, I am happy with the loose wave that the hair has once it's wet. The reason I gave the hair a "B" is because the pattern of the hair changed from what it was originally, but I'm still happy with it.

Used a Remington Flat iron
Used Remington Curling wand
The hair straightens beautifully! It flat irons to perfection as shown in the first picture. Sometimes I find that naturally wavy or curly hair does not straighten well because they either do not get bone straight, or they have a lot of tiny fly aways. This hair flat irons bone straight, and does not have a lot of fly aways. This hair also holds curls really well as shown in the second picture. For straightening and curling, I gave this hair an "A".

Left side is blow-dried / Right side is washed
I would say that the luster of this hair is medium. It has a natural shine to it without any products. It matches my hair very well, which helps with blending. For Luster I gave this hair an "A".

This hair tangles soooo much when you wash it. Even when I go to a hair salon to get my hair done, it tangles when the hair stylist is washing my hair so I know that it is not just me. The crazy thing is that it only tangles when I'm washing it. It does not tangle when it's dry, or styled. This was really weird to me because I have had less expensive hair that did not tangle nearly as much when I washed it. It's supposed to be Virgin hair, and the cuticles are supposed to be aligned to help prevent tangling and shedding. Because it only tangles when I wash it, I gave it a "B-" in this category.

This hair sheds whether it is wet, air dried, flat ironed, curled. The picture above shows how much hair came out after washing it. That does not include the amount that shed after blow drying and flat ironing the hair. I will say that all hair sheds...even the hair on your head! But I do not want hair that I spend a lot of money on to shed like this. To remedy the shedding I recommend sealing the wefts before you install the hair. Unfortunately I was not able to seal my wefts before I got the hair installed because shortly after I purchased the hair from the salon, a hair stylist installed it in my head. Since I have taken the hair out, I will seal the wefts before I install this hair again to help prevent further shedding. I gave this hair a "C" for shedding.

All in all, I do like this hair. I am actually thinking about making both bundles into clip in extensions. This hair does require some TLC, so if your not going to be able to take care of these extensions then do not get them. Especially because they are more expensive than beauty supply store hair. Also, if you are interested in this hair, then I recommend sealing your wefts so that you do not have as much shedding as I had.

I was thinking about coloring the hair for my second install to see how well it takes color. I don't know whether to do an ombre with burgundy tips, or just do some honey blonde highlights. Let me know in the comments below what you think I should do.

    1. Yea I thought so too. I actually lightened the ends of the hair last night, so the hair is able to take color. I posted a pic of it on my Instagram and on Twitter if you'd like to see the results.

Thanks for the support and your comment :)

  2. This hair tangled so bad after 1 week. It shed like crazy and frizzed up so bad I had to take it out. I spent a total on $320 on this weave and had to throw it away after a month. Please give honest reviews from now on.

    1. Hello and thanks for your comment,

I mentioned in my review that the hair tangled (while washing it) and shed really bad. I did not however experience any frizzyness. I also mentioned that the hair required a lot of TLC. I gave my opinion of how the hair was for me when I washed, dried, curled, and straightened it after having it in for two months. In this review I pointed out the negatives as well as the positives with this hair. I will always give my honest opinion on whether something has/has not worked for me.

  3. I really enjoy reading your posts. I went to the weave cafe. My experience was good. My money wasn't right so I tried to cut costs and I brought my own hair with me from tiffany's hair store. No complaints since I knew what I was getting into. I will definitely go back, but next time, I will treat myself and take your advice. Cant wait til your next post!!

    1. Hello!!! and thanks doll!! Keep in mind that if you do purchase this hair that it does tangle really bad when washing it and sheds as I've stated in the post. I actually made the extensions into clip-ins and am wearing them right now.

  4. Hey! I found your blog when I was searching for reviews on the Weave Cafe. I just moved out to the Baltimore area and I have no idea where to go or purchase hair from. I really don't wear weaves so I don't know what to get. I'm going to check out this place and see how it goes. I'll follow on instragram too.. so I can stay posted on the ins and outs of this area. Thanks ;-)

    1. Hello doll! My experience was not bad, as I went when the shop first opened. However, there have been quite a few people who informed me that lately the shop has not been doing well and the quality of the hair has been poor. So I don't feel that I can honestly recommend this shop nor their hair since I have not been in almost a year. Lately I have been purchasing hair online. One website I purchase from is princesshairshop.com . Thanks for your comment and support!!!
